You may be subject to legal punishment for unauthorized use and distribution of the video. 숭례문은 조선시대 도성을 둘러싸고 있던 성곽의 정문으로, 일명 남대문(南大門)이라고도 하는데, 서울 도성의 사대문 가운데 남쪽에 있기 때문에 붙여진 이름이다. 1962년 12월 20일에 국보 제1호로 지정되었다. 그러나 아쉽게도 2008년 2월 10일 오후 8시 40분 쯤에 발생한 화재로 2층 누각의 90%, 1층 누각의 10% 정도가 소실되었다. 이후 2010년 2월에 숭례문복구공사를 시작한 이래 2013년에 완공되어 시민에게 공개되었다.Sungnyemun Gate is Korea’s National Treasure No. 1, and its unofficial name is Namdaemun Gate. Sungnyemun Gate is the largest castle gate stone structure with an arched entrance in the middle. There’s a column on top of a platform, raising the roof, distinguishing the upper stories and lower stories of the building. Passageways for traffic are located at the east and west ends of the gate. Different from the other gates, Sungnyemun Gate’s tablet has its name written vertically. On February 10, 2008, Sungnyemun was destroyed by fire. After a 5-year reconstruction work, the gate was re-opened to the public again as of May 4, 2013.
